So if a bloke in a pub comes up to you and starts hitting you, defending yourself is "Giving in"?

Changling the way we live, e.g. Arming all the police, is giving in.

"When people talk about "not giving in to terrorism" this is exactly the kind of thing I think of."

"Giving in to terrorism" would be to let them blow people up and run people over without doing anything to stop them, which is what we've done. Arming ourselves so they'd think twice is the opposite of "Giving in".

I agree to a point.
The old bill have their boot boys..that's for sure...but the head sheds in their wisdom send out the melts and nights into the 'community '..hence they get rinsed.
Meanwhile football lads get the main firm...every time.

Definitely not.
The Defence secretary has a good man .proper pro.
Can you trust your average old bill to be that professional?

No, but around Westminster Airports required areas etc, Obviously.
Just look at America, once guns come in for every officer, the respect for civilians seems to disappear, and the Civilian and people in nearly every democratic constitution must be respected.
GB is a great country forget all that Land of the free bollocks if guns are carried by every officer and not the specially trained few then God help us all 15-20 years down the line it would be a very big loss for our children and their children.

How can you be sure there wasn't a couple of armed police tucked away somewhere?

Plus, it's across the road at Bishopsgate Police Station where the City's Armed Response Unit are based. This I know because a number of years ago one armed officer shot another by mistake on the firing range there.

I know if I was old Bill I'd want a shooter... big fuck off 45 like Harry Callaghan... in fact I'm not a copper and I'd still want that gun.. obviously just to use if anyone dares contemplating robbing Sold0 Manor...

Re: should all British police be armed?
Oh and we all seen the bodycam footage of the terrified female copper crying and screaming "keep baaaack!!!" as she's being attacked by some imported cultural enricher who's still going full pelt having been tazed several times?

Yeah I'm sure that makes potential Jihadists think twice about playing up, knowing that that's our "police force"

2 great examples of "community policing".

Look how influential they are!!!!!!!!

mashed in maryland 11:19 Mon Mar 27
Re: should all British police be armed?
What utter bollocks.

"The community" think of the police as weak and pathetic and there are countless videos on YouTube of "the community" (young scallywags and Islamist types) taking the piss out of and humiliating the police, who they should instead if not be scared of, at least have respect for.

In my day (not that long ago either) no one would fucking dream of taking back to a copper. But since all the softly softly gay lefty pc "community policing" shit, society's cunts get away with murder and the coppers let them.

And it's not that old bill are incapable of holding their own (as anyone who's been to a football match is well aware), but they know that if they did their jobs in the face of "the community" then some Labour voter would come out and cry about police brutality and probably call them racist and cost them their job.

Arm the fuckers.

Razzle 11:09 Mon Mar 27
Re: should all British police be armed?
To arm the full British Police force would bring an end to our civilized society. There should be more community policing as "The Community" is a very influential force.

Re: should all British police be armed?
Joe.

The only time I drove a Hyundai was in South Africa.

My pal asked what car I wanted to go to Pilansburg in (it's a massive game 'park' in an extinct volcano) and I said 'get me any old shit. As long as it's got air-con I'm not bothered'. You know how little interest in cars I have- and I didn't even bother taking my test until I was thirty.

He took me at my word and I drove a new, but shitty Hyundai that reminded me of tin-foil every time I shut the door. My pal borrowed his father-in-law's big Land Cruiser.

It was great fun driving through the lowveld seeing vultures and all sorts of birds, baboons, whales breaching when we were on the ocean road, the lot. One of my favourite drives ever. However, when we got to the 'park' (it was nothing like a fucking park) we were going down a track with bushes either side when he stopped in front of me and pointed to my left.

I heard a big crash and a rhino walked out about a foot in front of the car. Those fuckers are HUGE! I'd never regretted anything nearly as much as saying 'just get me any old car'. I was shit scared and if that thing would have turned around and got a bit boisterous I'd have been fucked.

So I'm just going on my own experience of driving a Hyundai- admittedly it's a bit of an extreme example. I would have thought almost any people-carrier, van or (god forbid) the artic you drive would have caused much more loss of life.

I suppose we should be grateful he was such a dope.

Re: should all British police be armed?
Chim.
A Hyundai is a fairly anonymous vehicle , nice square front for maximum damage to people, normal cars have sloped bonnets so you pass over the top of them.

As for armed cops at perceived likely flash points they will just move to softer targets. A bonb in a bin can cause a lot of damage in Romford or Dagenham market on a busy afternoon,

The doorman at Norton Rose in Bishopsgate was also sadly killed in the Bishopsgate bomb too.

I used to know a few who worked in their post room and they were really gutted about it.

I was amazed that the Docklands bomb only killed two people as well as that fucker was massive, just like the Bishopsgate bomb.

The IRA obviously must have warned someone that a bomb was about to go off, the Docklands bomb went off at about 8.30 at night (if I remember correctly) and the Bishopsgate bomb went off early on a Saturday morning when there are very few people around.

My pal Adam worked moving furniture in Harrods when the Harrods bomb went off and it caused pandemonium. There was a mass surge to get out of the building which the staff couldn't restrain- in fact most staff were in the surge to get out.

I went to the 'Black Museum' exhibition at the Museum Of London and they had one of the Harrods Bombs that hadn't gone off. It was a briefcase with plastic explosives and packed out with really thick 6 inch nails. It was sickening to look at.

Right next to it they had one of the backpack bombs that those fucking idiots who tried to blow up the bus in the Hackney Road had (unsurprisingly, none went off) and it was almost laughable to compare the two bombs.

It was full of what looked like flower in a two-bob rucksack and they'd half-heartedly SELLOTAPED a few screws that they'd obviously found in a drawer somewhere.

Another thing, what kind of silly cunt hires a fucking Hyundai for his terror plot? Was that really the full extent of his imagination?
